Position Summary

The Asset-Based Lending Loan Operations Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Tech Capital Asset-Based Lending (ABL) new business and loan portfolio management. This includes coordinating required collateral support for daily advances and initial loan funding. The incumbent will also prepare ABL specific loan reports as requested. The candidate will assist the Portfolio Manager in maintaining strong documentation management and oversight of the ABL process.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties 

  • Assists Relationship Manager’s with execution of the Asset Based Lending documentation requirement process.
  • Leads the daily processing of loan collections and applying collections to the loan collateral base.
  • Assists Relationship Manager’s with debtor searches, collateral reconciliations and processes periodic verifications consistent with ABL policies and standards.
  • Attends to issues within the scope of the job as they occur or as directed by the Operations Manager.
  • Assists in the daily management of ABL policies and standards.
  • Assists with the preparation of regular ABL loan reporting as requested by Technology Credit Union (Tech CU) and Tech Capital.
  • Sets up e-file storage for ABL loans and maintains required legal documentation. 
  • Generates due diligence reports including credit reports, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) searches, and other required reports on prospective clients, current clients and account debtors, as necessary.
  • Assists with credit requirements, including assisting with the timely collection of clients’ financial, collateral and other Borrower level reporting.
  • Assists Relationship Manager’s with periodic receipt of required reporting for insurance, UCC filings, suits, liens and judgements and other required reports.
  • Assists with prospective and existing client audit schedule and associated documentation requirements. 

Work Schedule

  • Full-time; typically, 40 hours/week.
  • 6:30am – 3:30pm, Pacific time, M-F.
  • Occasional overtime, extended early morning or late evening hours, and weekends; typically with advance notice.

Qualifications

Education: BA/BS degree in a business or STEM discipline, or equivalent work experience.

 

Experience: 3+ years’ experience in related disciplines, including loan processing and documentation.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Solid understanding of loan documentation and operational needs.
  • Strong organization, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Awareness of loan processing rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to navigate multiple software applications; MS suite of applications, financial spreading tools.
  • Ability to participate, sustain performance, and thrive on a high-energy team.

Licensing/Certifications:   None required.

 

Travel:   May be required to travel periodically to Tech CU locations and to client business sites.  May be required to periodically attend offsite training, meetings or events, typically with advance notice. Overnight travel unlikely.

Typical Working Conditions:  Office environment with interaction with a variety of internal and external parties. May work remotely as determined by business need and individual performance.

Equipment Used:  Routinely uses standard office equipment, including computer, phone, copier and other devices.

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to sit 85% of the day.
  • Reading a computer screen and perform keyboarding tasks for up to 65% of the day.
  • Frequent speaking and listening to interact with team, management, vendors and authorities in person or via phone.
  • Mobility to attend meetings within office building and offsite.

Pay and Benefits

  • Position Grade: 105
  • Salary Range: minimum-$83,500, midpoint-$99,000, maximum-$114,500
  • Work Location: The salary range listed is based on working in San Jose, CA. If you work remotely, your salary will be adjusted based on your geographic location.
  • Typical Starting Pay: Most new hires start between the minimum and midpoint of the range (adjusted for work location if applicable), based on experience and qualifications.
  • Bonus Potential: Target 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance.
